How to make a quiz from a YouTube video
Paste the link into Grader and it works from what is said in the video, generating questions you can answer and be marked on. It is the fastest route in, because there is nothing to upload.
Step by step
- 1Create a free account.
- 2Copy the video link. A normal watch link, a youtu.be short link or a Shorts link all work.
- 3Choose New material and paste it in.
- 4Pick your formats and generate.
- 5Answer the questions and see what you missed.
What to know
Any normal YouTube link
Watch links, youtu.be short links, Shorts and live replay links are all accepted. The video needs to be public or unlisted, since a private video cannot be read.
It works from what is said
The spoken content is what becomes questions. A lecture, a tutorial or an explainer works well. A video that is mostly music, or where the substance is on screen but never spoken about, gives much less to work with.
Nothing to upload
There is no file, so the 20 MB limit that applies to PDFs and photos is not a factor here.
Questions
Does it work for any video?
It works best where the content is spoken. Public and unlisted videos can be read; private ones cannot.
Can I use a Shorts link?
Yes. Watch links, youtu.be links, Shorts and live replays are all recognised.
Is this free?
The free plan covers three materials with no card required, and a video counts as one material like anything else.
